The Story
From silk worm to beautiful scarf, this silk scarf made from raw silk was handcrafted using traditional Khmer skills in silk-making. The rough relief was achieved thanks to the skill of the Khmer artisans who make use of a special weaving techniques to produce the unique finish of the fabric. The properties of the silk enhance the final product by giving it a smooth and shiny surface which is pleasant to the touch and attractive to the eye.
This raw silk scarf is soft, comfortable and warm, but not heavy or bulky, so you can wear it in during the winter months as well as simply on a chilly night. It is elegant and exquisite and will give touch of cheerfulness and glamour to the monochromatic hues of your winter clothes.
Each beautiful scarf is handwoven on looms and takes around 3 weeks to complete.

** The additional photos is of me discovering the intricate, multi-step process that starts with an itty bitty worm and becomes a lovely organic dyed piece of art that we get to wear! Some of the patterns they use are hundreds of years old and take months to make just a scarf!!! China may have introduced silk to Cambodia...but their work rivals the best in the world (and all done by hand!!).
